As we go from Summer to Autumn, it’s the perfect time to change your rooms from cool colors of Summer to warm colors of Autumn. Now is the time for rich hues of burnt sienna, lipstick red, olive green, chocolate brown or golden yellow.

Other than painting a full room one of these colors, here are a couple ideas to consider:

• Paint all but one wall beige or tan and use the last wall of the room for a accent color such as red.
• If you don’t want to do a full room makeover, you can always try splashing the room with color by just painting accent furniture pieces or putting in some new decorative items.

Fall is a great time to make your home’s exterior reflect the season with “harvesty” decorations. Embrace the fall colors with paint and use reds, yellows, oranges and browns to give your porch and home that “autumn look.” 

Fun ideas for your porch or front yard would be to:

• Paint some flowerpots or rustic containers and throw in some mums or other colorful fall filler.
• Paint a bench or your front door one of the autumn accent colors. This technique always turns out looking striking.
