If you take a quick glance at the first photo in the slideshow above, what do you see?

A beautiful home? Unique architectural elements? Our crystal-blue San Diego sky? Absolutely. All of the above.

But if you were able to zoom in a little closer or somehow step through your screen for a tour from one of our friendly painters, you would quickly see issues that needed to be addressed. Tired paint, cracked stucco, and a heavily-oxidized garage door were all calling for our attention.

What Did the Scope of Our Exterior Painting Include?

Using Sherwin-Williams Duration, we painted:

• Stucco siding
• Fascia
• Gutters
• Shutters
• Trim

A couple of other project notes:

• We used Sherwin-Williams Solo for the front door and garage door
• We filled small cracks in the siding with an elastomeric product
• Before painting, we patched the damaged stucco

Prepping and Painting This Garage Door Required a Little Extra Work

Our client at one point tried to wax the garage door with car wax. This fact, combined with the fading and oxidation it had experienced over time, left a hazy, smoky finish.

To restore a bright, healthy aesthetic, one of our craftsmen (Mike) power washed the surface. Cleaning is always a valuable first step! He then applied a no-rinse TSP product. After it dried, Mike wiped the door down, sanded it, primed, and finished with a topcoat of Sherwin-Williams Solo.

As you can see in the photos above, this home’s curb appeal is fully restored and may be better than ever. Beyond that, those points of damage that would only have grown larger have been repaired too; attention to detail is essential in order for a home painting project to endure.
