Exterior Painting Project in Bird Rock, La Jolla

We recently completed a major exterior repaint of an old Beaumont Ave. home in the Bird Rock area of La Jolla. This home required an enormous amount of prep work but in the end, it turned out beautiful. We've included a number of before, during and after photos of this project at this end of this post. It gives you a little taste of what some surfaces looked like when we arrived.

Project Highlights

We were hired to paint all wood exterior surfaces. We applied a special primer called Mildew Sealer that helps block mildew and mold from growing on the home in the years to come. We actually applied a second primer of the clear Mildew Sealer after the prep was complete. The siding was painted with Benjamin Moore's top exterior product, Aura, Low-Lustre. The color name was Benjamin Moore Cream Yellow. All the white trim around the home was painted with a Zinnser product we've used for many years and love called Perma-White. It is one of the best exterior products to protect against mildew, since Bird Rock is near the ocean.

The project was completed in August of 2012 by our fearless crew leader, Troy Payne and his staff. He also was the photographer! It took the Chism team approximately 3 weeks to complete. Chism Brothers excels at any project that requires a thorough and complete paint job. Anyone can paint a home, but our staff has been trained to paint homes with the utmost attention to detail. We want our paint jobs to last. This does require more time to paint a home, but we know we can stand behind our job for years to come. The home looks wonderful and will stay that way this time!
