You know, when it comes to boosting your home’s curb appeal, they say that one of the most valuable things you can do is give attention to your front door. Even though it’s a relatively small piece of the overall exterior picture, your entry area is the point of welcome, naturally drawing the eye and offering that friendly, visual “hello.”

This can be done by adding stylish new paint. For a few examples of these accent colors, look no further than Houzz. In fact, to save you a few keystrokes, just follow this link to find samples of beautiful and vibrant doors.

If, on the other hand, you prefer the natural beauty of wood, you can always refinish your front door. As a case in point, we would like to tell you a bit about a project our Victor recently wrapped up in La Jolla.

Refinishing Your Front Door Creates More Than Just Style

As you can see in the photos above, this door had huge potential. Its lines are beautiful, and the fact that it’s framed by the rustic reds of the surrounding brick certainly doesn’t detract from its charm.

Victor stripped and refinished the surface, bringing a warm, honey-like glow to the wood. But, beyond simply being beautiful, a refreshed finish offers a few other very practical benefits:

  • Protection from the sun - Acting much like sunscreen, stain adds an attractive layer of protection for your wood surfaces
  • Protection from the rain - Not only is it sunscreen, but stain also is a raincoat. It helps to shed water rather than allow it to permeate
  • Protection from contaminants - In addition to being similar to sunscreen and a raincoat, it’s also a repellant, working hard to keep mold, mildew, and rot at bay

We Also Repaired and Painted Damaged Stucco

Another aspect of this project involved restoring damaged sections of our client’s stucco siding. The team did a phenomenal job with this as well, bringing the unsightly, compromised areas back to a healthy and beautiful condition.
