Touch-Up Project in La Jolla

Recently we were hired to repair and repaint a kitchen and living area that had previously been painted by a well-known painting company in San Diego. The previous painters had left blotches of paint on the bronze window frames, woodwork and hardware, and had left thick brush strokes on the wood trim around the metal frames.

One of our project managers and expert painters, Troy, headed up this project in La Jolla. He thoroughly protected the room with plastic masking to preserve the home owner's new wood floors, new granite countertop, and new kitchen cabinets.

In order to restore the walls, window frames, and trim, Troy sanded the wood trim, cleaned the paint blotches off the metal frames with denatured alcohol, and added a leveling agent to the paint and re-brushed the paint surfaces to achieve a smoother finish. He also cleaned the soiled woodwork and created clean laser lines where the wall paint joined the woodwork.

The ceiling also required some major repainting, since it had been unevenly painted with visible lap marks. We used Sherwin Williams' Showcase to respray the ceiling (Chism Brothers recommends Showcase and Kilz's Dead Flat Finish for problem ceilings). We painted the window trim in Dunn-Edwards' Manor Blue in Suprema® Latex Gloss, and we painted the walls with the Suprema® Velvet finish.

This project required careful attention to detail in all respects. Troy executed fine and scrupulous craftsmanship to repair this customer's home. We were happy to provide our client with long-lasting and quality service.
