Front Door Staining and Refinishing in San Diego

When you think “curb appeal,” does your front door come to mind?

If not, it probably should. In fact, there’s more emphasis today on the color, quality, and condition of your home’s entrance than there has been in quite a while. Sometimes homeowners go for funky, bright, inviting colors (take a look at these examples on Houzz.com to see what we mean), and other times the best option is to restore what you already have.

Not only does a refreshed, attractive door bump up your curb appeal in a general sense, but it also can increase marketability if your property is for sale. Just a free tip for you to consider… No need to thank us.

Taking a Closer Look At Refinishing Tired Front Doors

Let’s take a look at a real-life example.

As you can see in the slideshow above, this entrance is definitely, well, weathered. That’s a generous word; the damage at the bottom was actually quite severe.

To bring this crumbling structure right down to its foundation, we stripped away the old, exhausted coatings that were just barely hanging on. With the door clean and bare, we could apply our first coat of stain and finish. The transformation (seen in the third photo) was already becoming drastic, even before the final coats.

The finished product is a deep, dark, beautiful finish. Not only does it look fantastic, but it’s also nice to know that the wood is protected once again.
