How do I clean mildew from my bathtub?

Is there mildew and grime in the lines and corners of your shower that doesn't ever clean away? Sometimes mildew seems to only get worse no matter how many times you try to clean it.

Mildew is a species of fungus that can be found in many parts of the home, from siding and gutters to bathrooms and laundry rooms. Showers and bathtubs are particularly susceptible to this unwelcome growth because of their consistent dampness and warmth. While regular cleaning and drying can help prevent mildew growth, mildew can be next to impossible to remove once it has taken hold in grout or caulking. The best way to remove mildew is to cut out the old caulk and re-caulk using a mildew-resistant product, which helps prevent new mildew growth.

Chism Brothers Painting has long experience in using caulk to restore bathrooms to “fresh beauty.” Our professional painters are experts in caulk removal and replacement. We can restore your bathroom with bright clean lines by cutting away all the contaminated caulking and by recaulking your tub/shower with mildew-resistant caulk. This process is fairly simple, but gives a fresh look to the whole bathroom.

Along with replacing the shower caulking, we can also inspect any other caulking in your home that may need replacing.

It is important to deal with any type of fungus problem as soon as possible, because the longer it grows unhindered, the more difficult and expensive it is to remove, and the more damage it can do. Additionally, fungus can create health concerns if left unchecked.

If you are having a problem with mildew, call Chism Brothers at 858-454-3850. We offer prompt and professional service to the greater part of San Diego.
