6 Ways to Boost Your San Diego Kitchen Before the Holidays

Fresh interior paint and a new decor is fantastic in any room of the house, but for the kitchen the transformation becomes something a little more special. Maybe this is true because it’s such a central hub in your home; a place where games are played, food is shared, the morning coffee is brewed (that makes any place sacred!), and you can let your hair down a little after a long day.

The kitchen takes on a whole new significance before the holidays! With that in mind, this can be an especially fun time of year to spread around a little extra style, maybe trying out new colors and new designs. We put together a few kitchen painting and design ideas to help you get started; not incredibly large projects, but smaller projects that can make a big difference.

Manageable Kitchen Paint and Style Ideas

  • Artwork - Normally in a kitchen, the artwork involves food. That makes sense to a degree, but for a little extra class and sophistication, try hanging artwork that could easily find a home on a wall in any room of your house.
  • Rug - Traditionally, rugs and kitchens are not the best combination because of the threat of spills, splatters, and stains. Why not try an indoor/outdoor rug? They’re durable, washable, and often are moisture/stain resistant. And, of course, they can be found in stylish colors and patterns.

  • Accent Wall - One bonus of having cupboards, cabinets, and counters is that they tend to cover a good deal of wall space. This means that changing the colors in your kitchen often isn’t as large of a project as in other rooms. It also means that you can make a good-sized difference by simply painting one accent wall.

  • Install a Backsplash - This is a relatively easy project, but thanks to the practically limitless number of backsplash styles , it can make quite a difference in the way your kitchen looks.

  • Cabinet Painting - This offers an incredible transformation, and cabinet painting can be done much more quickly, less expensively, and less invasively than by a complete cabinet replacement.

  • Try New Counter Stools - A new set of raised chairs or stools is not a major time investment, but it does add the feeling of new, fresh style.
