Choosing a Waterborne Bonding Primer for Your San Diego Painting Project
As a professional painting company here in San Diego, you can imagine how many different products and brands we have the opportunity to use in the course of our work. There are certainly the tried and true, go-to cans on our shelves, but we also enjoy occasionally testing out what is claimed to be the latest and greatest.
While we don’t necessarily want to promote one specific brand over another for a given type of project, we are always interested in doing what we can to help educate those who are looking for interior or exterior painting information. We might suggest a product, but that isn’t always a guarantee that it will perfectly meet your specific needs.
With that in mind, we would like to share the brief video below that our very own Troy took the time to put together. It involves his test of five different waterborne bonding primers. His goal was simple: to find the one that was fastest-drying, most impervious to the classic scratch test, and would meet the needs of our client.
But First, What Is a Waterborne Bonding Primer?
You probably are familiar with the concept of a primer in general. In short, it serves the valuable role of providing a first layer of paint that the following coats can grip onto. This is especially helpful when making a drastic switch in colors.
A bonding primer takes it a step further by being specifically developed to latch onto surfaces that are otherwise difficult to paint. This could include glossy materials, tile, vinyl, etc.
We hope you enjoy the video below! And, as always, if you have any questions or are looking for a San Diego painting company , please be sure to reach out to us at Chism Brothers Painting. It would be our pleasure to help!
