Lead-Safe Exterior Painting in Kensington
While it’s our goal to treat every project we undertake with care, occasionally we encounter circumstances that require an extra level of expertise and attention to detail. This was the case recently during an exterior painting project that we were involved with in Kensington.
Why was the extra care necessary?
Well, we were dealing with lead paint. Because of the health hazards that we are all aware of, working around this particular outdated application calls for special procedures. We’re Lead-Safe Certified by the EPA and up for the challenge. Take a look!
What Does Lead-Safe Painting Involve?
To name just a few, our safety procedures included the following:
- Marking off the areas we worked in with caution tape
- Using warning signs that expressed the fact that we were disturbing lead-based paint
- Laying plastic on the ground around our work areas
- …and more!
This kind of clarity is essential in order to keep both our crew and the environment safe and healthy.
What Kind of Exterior Painting Did We Do?
Our work here specifically involved the following areas:
- Stripped the window sills by scraping them with a draw scraper and then sanding with a power sander
- We painted 8 windows, inside and out
- We also painted the doors, eaves, and trim
- The front porch was painted as well
Beyond this, we’ll let the pictures do the talking for us! Be sure to click through the slideshow above to see the “before” and “after” transformations.
We also would like to say a special thanks to our team for the quality pictures and dedication they show. In particular, thanks for your work here, Veirnon!
