A properly prepped surface will have been cleaned, sanded AND primed. Without primer, the final coats will not adhere right, and the surface will not be durable. Plus, primer keeps the grain from showing through the final layers.

The best way to have your cabinets refinished is to spray all of the cabinetry. Doors, drawers, boxes and frames will all be taken to the spray shop to be sprayed. Are you licensed and insured?
