Deck Re-Staining for Existing Client in La Jolla CA, Fall 2012

Last Updated: November 7, 2012

Wooden deck with railing overlooking the ocean and coastal homes on a sunny day.
Last month we were happy to work with one of our existing customers who live in a home overlooking La Jolla Shores. Dave, one of our crew leaders, has helped re-seal and re-stain this customer's deck about every 2 years. Since La Jolla receives direct sunlight and has harsh coastal air, the painted and stained surfaces require regular maintenance.
For this specific project this fall, we cleaned the deck with a very careful washing, using a special cleaner from Fiber Saver Coatings. Then we used a mixture of clear ( TWP 1500 ) and two different colors ( TWP 300 series ) for the finish. In addition to painting the deck, we also refinished the railings. Two of us worked on the project, and it took us 3 days to complete the job.
Specifically with this project, we used a special mix of color and clear products to get the natural, semi-transparent final appearance that our customer wanted.
Above are some pictures of this project.
