How To Clean Walls
Last Updated: September 9, 2011
Are your walls beginning to show traces of dirt and grime? Here is a quick how-to for cleaning your walls without damaging the paint surface.
- Get a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge and dampen it with lukewarm water and soap.
- Apply low pressure in circular motions with the cloth.
Most dirt and scuffs will be removed by following those simple steps; generally, if the paint finish is hard (semi-gloss, gloss latex or an oil-based product), it will be easier to clean. It can also work well to use a Magic Eraser for the tougher spots.
If neither of these methods are successful, paint the wall again to each end of the surface, for a clean and smooth finish.
