Why Should Job Site Safety Matter to YOU? - A San Diego House Painter’s Perspective

October 20, 2016
Beige sofa, piano, and poinsettias against a tall, off-white wall with two vents.

In the course of our work as San Diego house painters , we have the opportunity to overlap with a number of different trades, giving us a chance to see other home service professionals in action. Sometimes we like what we see, but other times, well, a little something is left to be desired.

Specifically, let’s talk today about safety.

Above you’ll find two photos our team members snapped while on the job. One shows a carpenter working on a ladder, and the other is of an electrician who actually was working on the house next door to the one we were painting at the time. They’re both candid shots, and they both capture some pretty terrible volations of safe work practices.

We’re not here to point fingers. We’re held accountable for ourselves and our team of painters, and certainly have no interest in dragging anybody through the mud. What we would like to do, however, is offer a call-to-action to you homeowners out there, particularly when it comes to finding a home service professional who truly cares for you, your home, and their employees.

Why Is Safety Such a Big Deal? Safety = We Care

Whether it’s a dentist fixing a tooth, a surgeon correcting a health issue, or your mechanic replacing your car’s brakes, you want a professional who cares.

As a local painting company, we believe that our safety practices reflect our dedication just as much as the quality of our craftsmanship. And, it shows respect for you, your home, and the value we put on the wellbeing of our awesome crew.

What Does Our Focus On House Painting Safety Look Like?

Here are just a few examples ( you can find even more here ):

  • Our team follows cutting-edge safety guidelines, supports safe operations, and is encouraged to report any unsafe practices to a supervisor
  • We take a proactive approach, and offer accident-prevention training
  • We use guards and protective devices/equipment
  • Our supervisors hold regular safety training events that all members of our team attend
  • We keep safe, orderly work sites (this is a benefit to our clients as well!)
  • We’re fully licensed and insured
  • ...and more!
