Exterior Painting in Cardiff - Transforming a Stunning Beachfront Home

Last Updated: October 26, 2016

As a San Diego painting company, we have the privilege of visiting a wide variety of local homes. The unique nature of each project we undertake is part of what keeps things fresh for us (the color variety doesn’t hurt either!).

This particular home in Cardiff that we just painted is certainly a gorgeous example. The backdrop is a nearly flawless wall of blue as sky blends smoothly into ocean, divided only by a thin belt of clouds on the horizon.

San Diego may be our home, but views like this just never get old.

Complete Exterior Painting - What Did Our Work Involve?

Fresh, well-maintained exterior paint is always important, but it plays a particularly significant role on properties that sit so close to the ocean. Elevated moisture levels, UV rays, wind, and salt (to name just a few factors) are taxing, and paint and stain are your first line of defense against corrosive damage.

In this case, we were asked to paint a variety of surfaces, including:

  • New siding
  • Fascia
  • Windows
  • Doors
  • Rails
  • Garage Door
  • Misc. Trim

Which Paint Did We Choose for This Exterior Application?

With the rigors of this particular environment in mind, we knew we needed something that was up to the challenge. We chose Dunn Edwards’ Evershield. It’s an ultra-premium, environmentally-friendly paint that is formulated to stand up to UV rays, water intrusion, mildew, film failure (like blistering), and more.

BONUS TIP:

Don’t choose a paint brand simply because it offers a color you love, or out of blind brand loyalty. Different brands excel in different ways, so be sure to really evaluate the needs and condition of your surface, then research a product that will truly perform.

What Do You Think of the New Look?

We encourage you to click through all the photos above! It’s a gorgeous home, and it wears the new colors well.

In case you’re short on time, here's one of our favorite finished shots:
