Exterior Painting and Repairing Termite Damage in Leucadia

Last Updated: June 24, 2015

Window ledge with brown support block, damaged area, set in light beige wall, with green plants.

There are actually a lot of fascinating fun-facts that swirl (or should we say “swarm”?) around the topic of termites. For example, did you know that most of the workers are blind? Or that the fathers help take care of the young? Or how about the fact that despite their hard-working nature and dirty lifestyle, they actually spend a lot of time grooming each other?*

Unfortunately, as interesting as they may be, their skill set makes them professionals when it comes to systematic, strategic property damage.

This home in Leucadia is a prime example of their handiwork. In the slideshow above you can see the destruction they caused in the fascia and eaves especially, turning this home’s wood into a buffet line.

Our goal was to remove all signs of damage, restore the wood , and help to prevent this kind of problem from occurring again.

Filling, Priming, and Painting - Quality Exterior Wood Repair

One of our craftsmen, Victor, did a fantastic job handling this repair. His steps included:

  • Filling the wood
  • Applying mildew sealer
  • Topping it off with Sherwin-Williams’ Duration

The result is a clean, beautiful finish that not only looks great on the surface but is solid all the way through.

Refreshing Doorways

We also were asked to paint our client's tired, slightly damaged door. The threshold was worn and in desperate need of attention too, so we stripped and refinished it. The change was drastic!
