Interior Painting in Poway - Transforming Walls, Ceilings, Cabinets, and More!

Last Updated: June 15, 2015

A built-in kitchen cabinet area with light wooden cabinets, black countertop, and off-white tiled backsplash.

The story of the interior painting we completed in this home is told visually in the photos above, but we also wanted to share just a few details here about this particular project. Be sure to click through the slideshow as well, though! After all, they do say that a picture is worth a thousand words. If that’s true, there’s enough information there to keep you going for quite a while!

Complete Interior Painting

Our client asked us to paint the ceiling, walls, baseboards, and cabinets throughout their kitchen and family room. The project also extended into the hallway where we painted two sets of cabinets, two ceilings, and back into the kitchen where we painted the pantry door.

Careful Surface Preparation and Cabinet Painting

As you can see from the pictures above, we worked hard to carefully prepare the surfaces for paint, and this included protecting the surrounding areas. Project Manager Veirnon actually removed the cabinet pieces and painted them in the garage, filled the holes where the existing drawer pulls were located, and then also drilled the holes for the new pulls.

Selecting the Best Interior Paint for the Job

For this particular project we used the following:

  • Cabinets - Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee, Breakthrough (Satin)
  • Ceilings - Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee, Spartawall (Flat)
  • Walls - Dunn Edwards Inside Passage, Spartawall (Velvet)
  • Baseboards - Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee, Spartawall (Velvet)

These specific products are designed to be durable, low-Voc (little to no odor), and will stand up to scrubbing as needed. We always work with longevity in mind! After all, homes experience wear and tear in the natural course of day-to-day life, and we want the beauty we add to be able to withstand that.
