Exterior Repainting in Ocean Beach

Last Updated: March 13, 2013

We recently finished repairing and repainting this exterior, the home of a brilliant craftsman and well-respected contractor of San Diego. Typically the homes of the busiest builders and remodelers suffer the most, so we were happy to work on his home.

The exterior needed a fair amount of preparation, because the siding was in poor and failing condition. Before we could paint, we power-washed and scraped all the siding, rough sanded it with 50 grit sandpaper, then primed it all with amteco surface sealer. Next, we floated OnePass mold resistant patching compound over the entire exterior and then sanded it down to a smooth finish. We surface-seal primed the siding again, sanded it down with 80 grit paper, caulked it thoroughly, and finally finished it with two coats of Sherwin Williams superpaint. We used SW 7037 Balanced Beige for the siding, and we used SW 6385 Dover White for the trim.

We were pleased to receive the following note after we finished the job.
