Gate Painting in La Jolla and San Diego, Chism Brothers

Last Updated: August 16, 2011

Red wooden door with studded panels in a white brick wall, with greenery on either side.

We recently were hired to refinish a gate that was being damaged by the weather. As you can see from the photo in this blog, it had a stain and clear finish on it originally. Although this looks nice, it does require more maintenance. It was beginning to show its age when the owners decided they'd try something different. Sometimes homeowners don't want to have a painter come out every couple of years to put a clear coat on their gates and woodwork. Therefore, we were hired to do some thorough prep, apply a quality primer and several coats of solid paint. This will most likely double the life expectancy of this gate and save our client from having to repaint as often. Also, when it is time to repaint, it will not take as much prep time as having a stain and finish.

If you live in the coastal areas of San Diego such as La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Del Mar or Point Loma and have wood gates, fences, decks and so on, Chism Brothers Painting specializes in the proper preparation and painting of these items and much more.
