Solana Beach Custom Interior Painting in June 2014

Last Updated: June 14, 2014

Interior Painting Project Overview

This was a relatively simple one-story interior repaint in Solana Beach , CA (92075). The homeowner wanted the ceilings the same colors as the walls, which was a custom match to Architectural Coating's Butter Cream. The home, as you will see from the pictures was also empty, making it a bit easier for our painters to get the job done in a timely manner. We just had to spend more time masking off the floors and protecting all the unpainted surfaces.

Project Process & Products Used

  • After preparing all the surfaces, we thoroughly masked off the whole house.
  • Next, we sprayed and backrolled all the walls and ceilings with Dunn Edwards Spartazero Low VOC Eggshell Latex Enamel. It is important to note the reason we roll the walls and ceilings after we spray them. If we just sprayed the surfaces and a homeowner tried to do any touch up down the road, the painted surfaces would not touch up well. By rolling the surfaces after spraying, there will be a lit texture, making touch up less noticeable.
  • Last, we sprayed and painted all the trim with Vista Carefree Semigloss Latex Enamel in Pure White. (The trim did not need to be rolled or brushed. It looks better sprayed!
