Garage Door Painting in Escondido - Transforming a Tired Surface
Age and harsh weather can get the best of us all eventually… In this case, our client’s garage door was faded beyond recognition by oxidation.
In order to keep a fresh appearance and a healthy protective coating on your home’s surfaces, exterior painting should be a crucial part of your maintenance strategy. Quickly addressing those points where your paint is either failing or calling desperately for reinforcements is the key to minimizing further damage and decay.
Let’s take a closer look at what Troy, one of our fantastic craftsmen, was able to do for this garage door.
How Do You Remove Paint Oxidation?
Not only does oxidation create that hazy, glazed appearance, but if you run your hand over the surface it will leave a chalky residue on your fingers. Troy’s preparation process began by removing the oxidation with a deglosser liquid.
The darker brown on the left is the original color, and the lighter color on the right is the portion still obscured by oxidation. What a difference! Be sure to take a look at the photos above for an even better look at the final transformation.
